Berry Saharof is one of Israel’s most revered singers and most sought-after producers. Once a member of the legendary European act “Minimal Compact”, Berry has successfully made the shift towards a solo career in Israel, a career which continues to reach new heights.
Saharof is a versatile and multi-faceted artist, who takes part in wide-ranging projects, from composing soundtracks of unique films to collaborating with young, alternative artists, and working with highly acclaimed names as Talvin Singh. His music combines motifs of Rock, Trip hop, Ethnical, Electro, Jazz and so on, though remaining true to his rock & roll heritage.

“And the other poets of his generation paled by comparison.”
Berry Saharof spoke these words in the middle of a  tribute concert to poet Ibn Gabirol. This performance, which premiered in the gala opening of the 2007 Oud Festival in Jerusalem, is the result of Saharof’s deep exploration into the poetic and philosophical works of this Jewish intellectual from the Spanish golden age.
This poet’s tragic life story was filled with emotional suffering that produced poetry the likes of which had never been written and philosophical works whose depth leaves scholars and readers in awe.
The depth and breadth of this work are reflected in Saharof’s melodies which provide a link for different periods and cultures and display the same themes; hunger for innovation and a never-ending search into the depth of the past and tradition.
