For a few decades now, singer Shalom Hanoch has been considered one of Israel’s biggest rock legends. Often compared with “giants” such as Neil Young and Mick Jagger, Hanoch has always been a highly acclaimed artist/arranger, composer and songwriter, as well as one of the most highly rated performers on the scene. Hanoch’s music ranges from pure Rock & Roll to delicate, intimate, acoustic songs, which have always played a major roll in Israeli culture (”Maya”, “Why Should I Take it to Heart”, “Guitar & Violin”, “Dej’a- Vu”).
On stage for over 20 years now, Shalom is still a major attraction for all audiences, youth & adults alike. His energy as a performer is unique and exciting and his virtuosity as a singer/player flows on to his top-quality musical group which accompanies him.

Biography:

When he was 12 years old, Shalom Hanoch received a gift from his father: a guitar. He learned to play it and composed his first songs, continuing to do so through his schooling at Bet Zvi School of Theatre up to the age of 16. At 19, he joined the army as a member of Hanachal army troop and was recorded singing for the first time in 1966. The following year, he began to work with Arik Einstein, composing lyrics to his songs and beginning a legendary collaboration which lasted many years and produced some of Israel’s finest and most loved albums and songs.
In 1968 Hanoch was released from the army and composed an incredible amount of songs. He began to sing with the Shlosharim band along with singers Beni Amdursky and Chanan Yovel.
During the 70’s he formed the band Tamuz and in 1977 finally released his first solo album “Adam Betoch Atzmo” (A Man within Himself). He then began to be recognized as a unique soloist performer and grew through the 80’s and the 90’s, recording successful albums and performing all over the country to become an Israeli rock legend.
Highlights:
“Yetiza” (Exit) Tour-
Chanoch has been touring with this special concert for years and continues to do so today. Alone on stage and accompanied solely by his long-time musical producer, partner and keyboard player, Moshe Levi, the performance strips Shalom’s songs to their minimal form: vocals, piano and acoustic guitar alone, allowing the songs to be revealed in all their beauty, emotion and complexity. So far the show has drawn thousands of fans and music lovers as diverse as the show itself. The unique format of the show- crowd participating in song selection, an innumerable song collection, no rehearsals- creates a different show each and every time, always captivating and successful.

“Chayot Layla”- Once a month on Friday nights, at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv, Shalom Chanoch performs a true rock concert featuring his greatest hits, accompanied by a full band. The concert begins at 2AM and is therefore titled Hayot Layla- Hebrew for nocturnal animals. These concerts are usually sold out in advance.
