Sheygets Bio
“Sheygets”- which means “brat” in Yiddish, is an Israeli rock band founded in the year 1999 in Ramat-Gan, Israel, when the leader singer was a 17-year old high school student.
They have released 3 and half albums until now, their songs dealing mainly with failing relationships, social criticism, and satire.
In November 2001, they released their debut album “New York- Rafiach”, the members of the group inspired by groups like Nirvana, the Pixies, Sonic Youth, Sex pistols and more.
They have started to tour and perform all over Israel, and have gathered a large group of fans. They took part in many rock and summer festivals around the country.
In 2002-2003, they were the opening band for one of the famous groups in Israel those days “Monica Sex”, and right after that, they decided that Monica’s drummer would be the music producer of their second album. While they were working on their second album, a big record company signed them and they recorded the album within a week. In June 2004 they released their second album. Two years later they released their third album, “Stop Eating Cakes”. For the 60th independent day for Israel they released a mini album which is a cover album of nostalgic and lovable songs of Israel of the Sixties.
